How many of us have a few prawns sat in the freezer and never really know what else we can do with them? There’s only so many times that you want a prawn curry or a prawn cocktail. Try these coconut & sesame coated prawns, ultra quick and a great meal to enjoy through the busy working week or even for a Saturday night TV meal.


  • 250g ready cooked prawns
  • 6 tbsp. coconut flour
  • 1 beaten egg in a bowl
  • 150g sesame seeds
  • 20g desiccated coconut
  • Spray oil


  • Prepare 2 bowls, in one place the flour, in the next place your sesame seeds and coconut mix. Place these next to the beaten egg bowl
  • Now dip your prawn into the flour, then the egg and finally the sesame mix and place them onto a baking sheet
  • Prepare all your prawns in the same way, make sure they get a good coating all over
  • Heat up your pan over a medium heat, add a dash of spray oil into it and once the pan is hot, add the prawns
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan and don’t be tempted to walk away and leave them to cook on their own. These are going to be flash fried and will only take a few minutes
  • I served these with a rainbow salad and avocado
  • You could make a dip if you wished but whichever way you try, enjoy them and enjoy the crunch all in a super quick time
