Another favourite in our home is the taco shell. Try this recipe and make your version, far more tastier and you know exactly what’s inside them.

  • 150g grated mature cheese
  • 1 tsp crushed garlic
  • Spray oil

  • Set the oven to 190c
  • Mix the crushed garlic with the grated cheese
  • Lay a sheet of grease proof paper/parchment onto an oven proof tray
  • Place 2 tbsp of the grated cheese mix into a a small mound
  • I managed to get 4 onto my prepared tray
  • Bake in the oven for 6 minutes, stay with them, you don’t want them to burn
  • Remove and allow to cool slightly
  • Now using an upside down cake tin, lightly spray the metal mounds
  • One at a time, sit the softened cheese over the mounds and gently mould using a cake slice to lift them
  • Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes, don’t be tempted to play around with them
  • This will give you time to make your filling
  • I used Dukkah spice added to cubed chicken/finely chopped shallot/garlic/finely chopped red pepper
  • Once the shells have cooled, remove from them from the cake tin and load up as normal
  • Dress with avocado and enjoy
